Ten years ago, a little southern restaurant opened its doors in Beaumont Centre with a simple promise. Great food. Genuine hospitality. A place where everyone feels welcome.

That restaurant was J. Render’s Southern Table and Bar. And Lexington, you showed up.

A decade later we are still here. Still smoking our meats low and slow. Still making our sauces from scratch. Still pouring the best happy hour in town every single day from 4 to 7 PM. And still grateful every single day for the community that made all of this possible.

What Ten Years Actually Looks Like

Ten years means thousands of brisket sandwiches. Hundreds of live music nights on a stage that has seen some of the most talented local artists in Kentucky. Countless birthday parties in the Speakeasy. Derby parties. Keeneland Days. Mother’s Day brunches. Anniversary dinners. First dates that turned into something more. Last-minute happy hours that stretched into three-hour conversations nobody wanted to end.

Ten years means watching Lexington grow up around us and feeling genuinely proud to be part of it.

This year we celebrated our anniversary with a week that felt like a party refusing to stop. We welcomed Master Distiller Ross Cornelissen of 1792 Bourbon into our Speakeasy for an exclusive barrel-to-table dinner that sold out before we could blink. We hid gift cards around the restaurant all week long. We doubled reward points. We raffled off dinner for two every month for a year. And we threw a party with Griffin Shively on the stage that reminded every single person in that room exactly why we do this every day.

What Makes J. Render’s Different

People ask us this question more than any other. The honest answer is simple. It is you.

It is the regular who sits at the same bar stool every Tuesday without fail. The family that books the Speakeasy for every holiday gathering because they cannot imagine celebrating anywhere else. The couple who had their first date here and came back for their anniversary dinner years later. The group of coworkers who discovered that $1.25 wing Wednesdays are the best mid-week reset in all of Lexington.

It is the community that shows up for us the same way we show up for them. Every single day.

What is Next

We are not slowing down. Not even a little. Live music every Friday and Saturday. Bluegrass on the patio every Tuesday. Lexington Restaurant Week. Dine-toDonate events. New cocktails. New specials. New reasons to pull up a chair and stay a while.

Thank you, Lexington. From our table to yours, we could not have done any of this without you.
